Overview

7025 Over Easing for use with the 6040, 1500, 1750, 1780 and 2000 Round Handrails.

The Westfire Stair Parts 7025 Over Easing is a meticulously crafted stair component designed to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of round handrail systems. Specifically engineered for compatibility with round handrail profiles, such as the 6040 wall rail and other full-round profiles (e.g., 1500, 1750, 1780, and 2000), this over easing serves as a transitional fitting that smoothly connects a handrail to a higher or lower section of a staircase. Its primary purpose is to provide a seamless, ergonomic flow for the handrail, ensuring both safety and comfort for users as they navigate changes in elevation or direction.
Design and Functionality:
The 7025 Over Easing is characterized by its gentle, curved profile, which allows it to "ease" the handrail over a vertical transition, such as at the top of a staircase or where the rail shifts to accommodate a landing or intermediate level. This fitting eliminates abrupt changes in the handrail’s path, offering a continuous grip surface that adheres to building codes and enhances user experience. The design is both practical and elegant, blending form with function to suit a variety of architectural styles, from traditional to transitional.
This component is typically used in conjunction with round handrails, making it an ideal choice for staircases requiring a cohesive, polished look. It is shipped with essential installation hardware, including the 3001 Rail Bolt Kit and flush plugs, which facilitate secure and visually clean joinery with the handrail. These accessories ensure that the connection points are both sturdy and discreet, maintaining the overall sleek appearance of the railing system.
Materials and Craftsmanship:
Manufactured by skilled Amish craftsmen, the 7025 Over Easing reflects Westfire Stair Parts’ commitment to quality and durability. It is available in a range of wood species to accommodate different aesthetic preferences and project requirements. Standard options include:
  • Red Oak: A popular choice for stain-grade applications due to its rich grain and warm tones.
  • Poplar: An economical, paint-grade wood ideal for projects where the fitting will be coated.
  • White Hard Maple: Known for its strength and smooth, light finish.
  • American Cherry: Offers a distinctive reddish hue that deepens with age.
For custom orders, additional species such as Brazilian Cherry, Mahogany, Alder, White Oak, Hickory, Beech, and Birch are available, though these may require a lead time of 2 to 4 weeks. Each piece is crafted to be free of finger joints, ensuring a uniform appearance and structural integrity. Westfire emphasizes best color matching across its stair parts, so the 7025 Over Easing integrates seamlessly with accompanying handrails and other components.
Availability and Lead Time:
The availability of the 7025 Over Easing depends on the selected wood species. Red Oak and Poplar variants are often stocked and ready to ship within 2-3 days, making them convenient for time-sensitive projects. Non-stocked species, however, are made to order, with a typical production and shipping timeline of 2-4 weeks. This flexibility allows customers to balance urgency with customization, tailoring the fitting to their specific needs.
Installation and Compatibility:
The 7025 Over Easing is designed for straightforward installation, particularly when paired with Westfire’s compatible round handrail profiles. Its inclusion of the 3001 Rail Bolt Kit—a standard in the industry—ensures a secure attachment to the handrail, while the flush plugs conceal the bolts for a refined finish. This fitting is versatile enough to work with various round handrail diameters, though it is most commonly associated with the 6040 profile and its full-round counterparts (1500, 1750, 1780, 2000). Installers should note that proper alignment and secure fastening are critical to maintaining the fitting’s safety and aesthetic benefits.
Warranty and Terms:
As with all Westfire Manufacturing products, the 7025 Over Easing is backed by a limited warranty that guarantees it to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Should any issues arise, Westfire offers exchanges or credits, provided the defect is verified and prior approval is obtained. However, this warranty does not cover damage resulting from improper use or installation. The product is shipped F.O.B. Holmes County, Ohio, with freight charges prepaid and added to the invoice for customers with established credit.
Applications:
The 7025 Over Easing is a versatile component suitable for residential and commercial staircases alike. Its smooth, flowing design makes it an excellent choice for open stairways, wall-mounted handrails, or any setting where a continuous handrail is desired. Whether installed in a classic home or a modern office space, this fitting enhances both the safety and visual harmony of the stair system.
In summary, the Holmes' 7025 Over Easing is a high-quality, Amish-made fitting that combines practicality, durability, and style. With its range of wood options, precise craftsmanship, and thoughtful design, it stands as a reliable and attractive solution for rounding out a handrail installation.
