Overview

4091 Poplar box newel posts have a pedestal size of 6-1/4" and an overall length of 55". Pedestal wall is 3/4" with the main shank at 4-3/4". Poplar is the best choice for a paint grade newel with its tight grain and economical cost. It can also be stained dark to match walnut, mahogany and Brazilian cherry hardwoods.

Option available to add half-sawn 4091 Red Oak box newel posts to shopping cart. Note that half newels are non-stocked and typically ship in 8 to 10 business days.

Note: Newels are unfinished (no stain or varnish), sanded and ready for stain or paint.


Poplar is the number one choice for painting or staining dark to match walnut, mahogany or Brazilian cherry hardwoods. Considering the cost, poplar is the most affordable of the milled hardwoods and one of the easiest to work with.

The 4091 Box Newels are made with lock mitered corners, which means they have no end grains, developing elegance.

    FREIGHT TERMS
    F.O.B. Tualatin, Oregon. If credit has been established, freight charges will be prepaid by Westfire Manufacturing and added to the invoice total. Customer is Responsible to Pay all Freight Charges if Order is Canceled while in Transit.

    SHIPPING
    Stair Part orders are shipped to the customer from the manufacturer's warehouse or the manufacturer of a specific style. Please note that Westfire is not responsible for delayed, lost or damaged freight.

    CLAIMS
    Claims for shortages, breakage or damage must be made directly with the transportation company. Claims for shortages must be made within one (1) day after shipment received. Customer must count boxes, approve and sign receiver from transportation company. Customer is responsible to verify shipment quantity.

    RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
    Special orders or nonstandard products are not subject to return or cancellation if special raw material purchase and/or production has been initiated. All returns of non-defective goods must be in new resaleable condition, shipped prepaid, and are subject to a 30% handling and restocking charge. Any "custom" or non-stocked item (items made to order) cannot be returned. Any parts having been altered or otherwise modified may not be returned. Returns are limited to stock purchased within the last 30 calendar day (No exceptions).
