The MP-4075 from Westfire Stair Parts is a farmhouse-style plain box newel post designed to add a rustic yet clean aesthetic to staircases. It embodies a simple, squared-off profile that aligns with modern farmhouse or mission-inspired interiors, providing structural support while serving as a subtle decorative element. Unlike more ornate turned newels, this plain box design emphasizes minimalism with its smooth, unadorned surfaces, making it versatile for both traditional and contemporary home renovations. It is crafted as a non-stocked, made-to-order item, ensuring high-quality customization options.

This is a non-stocked product and made to order.  Allow about 3 to 4 weeks to ship, FOB Ohio.  Please note that non-stocked items cannot be returned.

  • Size: The post measures 3-1/2 inches x 3-1/2 inches (square cross-section) and stands at 57 inches tall. This height is optimized for standard residential staircase installations, allowing for easy integration as a starting, landing, or intermediate newel.
  • Build: Constructed from solid newel blanks (typically hardwood laminations without veneers for durability), the MP-4075 features a solid core rather than a hollow structure. Its walls are 3/4-inch thick hardwood, contributing to its sturdy feel and resistance to warping.
  • Joinery: Lock-mitered corners eliminate visible end grains, creating seamless, elegant joints that enhance both appearance and strength. This technique is a hallmark of Amish craftsmanship, ensuring a premium finish without the need for additional fillers or seams.
  • Customization: Custom heights, half-newel versions (at approximately 70% of the full post cost), and modifications are available via per-job quotes. It can be paired with complementary box newel posts like the 4091, 4092, or 4375 for cohesive staircase designs.

All products will be exchanged or a credit issued if found to be defective by Westfire Manufacturing. No merchandise will be returned without prior approval of officials at Westfire Manufacturing. Improper use of products eliminates Westfire Manufacturing of any and all warranties or responsibilities for safety or performance either expressed or implied. WESTFIRE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE PRICES AT ANY TIME FREIGHT TERMS F.O.B. Tualatin, Oregon. If credit has been established, freight charges will be prepaid by Westfire Manufacturing and added to the invoice total. Customer is Responsible to Pay all Freight Charges if Order is Canceled while in Transit. SHIPPING Stair Part orders are shipped to the customer from the manufacturer's warehouse or the manufacturer of a specific style. Please note that Westfire is not responsible for delayed, lost or damaged freight. CLAIMS Claims for shortages, breakage or damage must be made directly with the transportation company. Claims for shortages must be made within one (1) day after shipment received. Customer must count boxes, approve and sign receiver from transportation company. Customer is responsible to verify shipment quantity. RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS Special orders or nonstandard products are not subject to return or cancellation if special raw material purchase and/or production has been initiated. All returns of non-defective goods must be in new resaleable condition, shipped prepaid, and are subject to a 30% handling and restocking charge. Any "custom" or non-stocked item (items made to order) cannot be returned. Any parts having been altered or otherwise modified may not be returned. Returns are limited to stock purchased within the last 30 calendar day (No exceptions).
